Mysimba helps you to lose weight by affecting the areas of the brain that control food intake. Together with a healthy diet and exercise, it can have profound effects on obesity and the health issues associated with it.
You can buy Mysimba online and have it delivered to your door the next working day. EveAdam’s subscription model also means you can get your medication every one, two or three months. Whichever works best for you.
Mysimba weight loss tablets are effective and relatively safe.[1] That’s two good reasons to be getting on with. When compared to the health risks associated with obesity, or being significantly overweight and having other underlying conditions, it can help to improve your health considerably.
As with any weight loss treatment, a little willpower and some lifestyle changes are key to its success. Your prescribing clinician can help you work out a plan to ensure that you get the best out of the treatment and keep the weight off.
Yes, you’ll need a prescription in order to get Mysimba, whether you’re purchasing it online or not. This is because its use needs to be monitored. For example, if you don’t lose 5% of your weight during the treatment’s first 16 weeks, it’s likely you’ll need to try another medication or method of losing weight. Your blood pressure may need to be monitored as well.
Buying medications online safely means finding an online pharmacy that is UK registered. All of EveAdam’s clinicians and the pharmacy itself are UK registered, meaning you can buy from us with the utmost confidence.
It’s also convenient. Simply fill in the online questionnaire and one of our clinicians can offer a range of medications that are best suited to you. Your treatment will arrive the next working day and in discreet packaging.
It’s a weight loss treatment that’s available in tablet form, and is taken daily. It’s only as effective as your ability to eat a calorie controlled diet and to get regular exercise. Mysimba is a medicine that’s only available on prescription.
Mysimba weight loss tablets work on the specific area of the brain that controls how much food you eat and how energy is spent. By affecting cravings for food, it makes it less likely you’ll overeat, which in turn can lead to significant weight loss for many when used alongside lifestyle changes.
Mysimba contains two active ingredients, naltrexone hydrochloride and bupropion hydrochloride. It also contains a small amount of lactose, alongside the other tablet core ingredients (the rest of the tablet’s ingredients).
There’s no generic version of Mysimba as it’s a relatively new medication that’s still patented by Orexigen Pharmaceuticals Ireland Limited.
Mysimba results from trials suggest that it’s very effective for some people, but for long term success, willpower and making lifestyle changes in addition to taking the treatment are also vital.[2] As with any weight loss treatment, no miracle cure or easy path exists, but it can be very beneficial under careful monitoring from a clinician.
Mysimba is safe to use for most people, but your prescribing clinician will need to know about any other health issues you have.
Getting prescription medication is rarely a straightforward process, especially the first time you need it. It means making a doctor’s appointment, and it can be difficult to be seen quickly. And then it’s sometimes a question of having to take time off work and sitting for long periods in a waiting room.
At EveAdam, you only need to fill in the online questionnaire and choose from the most suitable treatments that one of our UK registered clinicians offer. The only waiting is in the comfort of your own home, for one working day. That’s it. As simple and straightforward as it gets. You can then receive repeat prescriptions for Mysimba every one, two or three months.
Mysimba instructions are straightforward. Simply swallow the tablet whole, without crushing or breaking, with water. They’re best taken with or after a meal and not on an empty stomach. If in doubt, refer to the patient information leaflet that comes with the treatment and has all the instructions for its use.
The dosage and regularity of taking Mysimba changes from the beginning of the treatment. In week one, you take one tablet in the morning only, preferably at the same time. In week two, you should take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening. Week three means taking two tablets in the morning and one in the evening. And in week four and onwards, you should take two tablets in the morning and two tablets in the evening.
Simply skip the forgotten dose and carry on taking Mysimba as instructed. Don’t take double the dosage to make up for the missed tablet as this can lead to serious side effects including seizures.
If you’ve taken too much Mysimba you should seek immediate medical attention. Be sure to take the box of Mysimba with you so the hospital can act as quickly as possible should a serious health risk present. Taking the tablets at the same time each day can help you to remember when to take your tablet and prevent you from taking too much by accident.
The most common side effects from Mysimba occur in more than one in ten of patients. They include nausea, constipation and a headache. Up to one in ten patients may also experience tremors, vertigo, insomnia, dry mouth, fatigue, changes in how food tastes, irritability, alopecia, pruritus, tinnitus, sweating and poor concentration.
Severe side effects with Mysimba are rare, occurring in less than one in 1,000 patients, but it’s important to know what they are should they develop. If you experience any of the following you should seek immediate medical attention: suicidal thoughts, seizures, erythema or Stevens Johnson Syndrome (a rare skin condition that can cause severe blisters and bleeding in the eyes, mouth, lips, nose or genitals) and rhabdomyolysis (muscle cramps, pain and weakness).
One of the more serious potential side effects with Mysimba is depression. In serious cases it can lead to suicidal thoughts and severe depression. Although very rare, you should understand the risk and discontinue use if you notice any of these symptoms. You should also inform your prescribing clinician if you’re prone to mental health issues before taking Mysimba.
As with any medication, there’s a small risk of allergic reactions while taking Mysimba. On rare occasions, this can lead to significant health risks. If you notice any of the following, seek immediate medical attention: swollen face, mouth, lips and throat, difficulty breathing and severe hives or rashes.
Despite containing different ingredients, Mysimba and Saxenda work in a similar way, by making you feel more full more quickly. This has an effect on food cravings and can lead to weight loss as a result. Xenical, instead, works by preventing the body from digesting fat, which is eliminated without being fully processed by the body.
So which is better? That depends on the specific needs and health issues of each person. All medications show positive results for some people in the long term, but it may be a case of some trial and error to see which one suits you best.[3]
To call exercise and diet an alternative to weight loss medications makes little sense as they should be used alongside those treatments. In fact, without diet and exercise, it’s unlikely the treatments will be successful. Your clinician should be able to provide assistance and advice for the most effective and safest lifestyle changes for you.
Yes, but it’s only available as a last resort. This means when all other options haven’t produced the desired results and when the health risks associated with being obese are high enough to warrant surgery.
There are a few options available, including a gastric band (which is placed around the stomach to make you feel more easily full), a gastric bypass (where the top of the stomach is attached to the small intestine leading to a lower calorie intake) and a sleeve gastrectomy (where part of the stomach is removed so you’re unable to eat as much and will feel fuller when you do).
The information found below is not exhaustive. For more comprehensive information, please refer to the patient information leaflet that comes with your treatment.
You should not take Mysimba if any of the following apply to you: allergies to any of its ingredients, hypertension, a history of seizures, brain tumour, bipolar disorder or severe liver or kidney disease.
Your clinician may also think Mysimba is unsuitable if you have coronary artery disease, severe head trauma, diabetes, liver or kidney issues, or mania.
You should not take Mysimba if any of the following apply to you: you have recently stopped or are about to stop benzodiazepines, you’re taking MAOI antidepressants, you have a dependency on opiates, you consume a large amount of alcohol, or you are taking any other medication containing bupropion or naltrexone.
Your clinician may also think this medication is unsuitable for you if: you regularly consume alcohol; you have a dependency on cocaine; you take any medication that comes with a heightened risk of fits or seizures.
